In 2003 I, Tim Yordy, started a music review website which shall remain nameless for the time being. Shortly after starting the site I asked my friend Matt Smyczynski to join me in writing music reviews. In December of that year Matt sent me a sketchup of a comic strip based on the two of us.
A month or so later we launched TheOfficeComic.com. It wasn’t the most imaginative title and I’ll freely admit being the one that came up with it. It also proved to be kind of a poor choice because it was right around the time that NBC created the television show The Office.
The theme of the comic was about the characters of Tim and Matt working together in an office on the music review website. That was back in January of 2004. We actively made The Office Comic for a little over two years with Matt doing all of the artwork and each of us doing the writing. During that time both of our lives changed quite a bit and we reached a point where we simply couldn’t do it anymore. I don’t remember when exactly it happened but three or more years ago I let TheOfficeComic.com go offline.
Now six years after it’s inception, the archives of The Office Comic are back! As this site is mainly a re-posting of those archives, any posts below the comics will likely contain little nostalgic details that I can remember from back when Matt and I were actively making The Office Comic.
If you are an old fan, thank you for the years of gentle nagging to get me to put The Office Comic back online. And if you’ve never heard of it until now, then please stay awhile and I hope you enjoy what we were able to create.
